God makes Everything beautiful at its time
This week I took time to go through my old stuff: photos, treasures, cloths among other stuff .Picket photos and my older journals, went and sat on grass just to reflect on how life had changed. I always knew looking back on the tears would make me laugh, but I never knew looking back on the laughs would make me cry. In order of how events happened and different transition moments , I organized the photos and I couldn’t help but just have a fuzzy feeling of how much I had grown , the spaces I had been to ,pictures of me receiving awards in school ,people I had met all my life ,good family times that I have had .*wipes a tear * I remember scrolling my phone book to find out if I had some peoples number to call them and catch up ,know how life had changed on their side .It did not stop there ,I took my journal and I could not help but cry . It had some of the dreams and hopes I had written as a kid, the plans and goals I had set for my life, the quotes I had written from different leaders who had spoken into my life. One that I cannot forget is one from my Dad. He told me 11years ago as he was praying for me ,held my head and said “ son , one day you will be great , Just like Mordecai in the bible , God will use you to raise leaders and create opportunities for them “. For a moment I felt ignited by just reading that from my Journal.
But a recent beautiful story that comes to mind is about my church, a place and a community that I love so much called Mavuno church .Mavuno exists to turn ordinary people into fearless influencers of society. About a year and a half ago, we were transitioning to our promise land. I remember In December 2012 and beginning of 2013, many of us visiting the land, clearing, planting trees and praying for the land. This was a great opportunity to build faith and open our eyes to what God is intending to do amongst us. (My heart be still) as I write this I can feel my tears just about to bust. Anyway this trips were called occupation days, a land that was grassy, in a midst of nowhere somewhere on a hill where we could see the main highway. I can remember looking at the pictures of people holding grass and praying for it .kids holding water cans, teens motivating the exhausted once. Today I look at the beautiful space that we fellowship and I am so grateful to God to see he answered our prayers. This was one season that ignites me whenever I think about it.
What about you? Have you had such moments? Moments where you look back and present and all you do is be thankful and hopeful? Clearly, when we go through our old pictures or think back on events we experienced, we feel a wonderful sense of nostalgia .a warm, fuzzy feeling. I don’t know about you but I know for most of us it’s always an encouraging time when you look at how far you have come. I cannot help but see how God makes everything beautiful in its own time .One of the most common memory verse is Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. I believe that God has always walked with us no matter how much we hurt him or run away from him.
After my one hour nostalgia moment I took time to thank God for writing my story and I heard him tell me to surrender all to him and that he is in control of my life. He makes it all worthwhile. You see, God never promised that you’d always walk on water, that your journey would be easy. But he did promise that when you go through the fire it will not burn you; and when you go through the waters they will not drown you. God also promises that He will never leave you nor forsake you. God is right there with you writing an awesome story. so next time you feel so low , take time and reflect on God’s goodness in your life ,surrender all and ask God to walk with you . God will always surprise us. Our satisfaction in life is not the product of what we’ve done in our lives but the effect of the story of what we’ve done that we tell ourselves. This grace offered so abundantly and absurdly is costly. It cost Jesus his life.
Live in it. Embrace it. Rejoice in it. He is so so so good. What do we receive when we embrace this grace? Peace. Peace beyond understanding. “Peace is the fruit of Grace.” live in peace today and forever. He is sovereign.
